Hire Experts in Residential Handover Inspections
You have been involved in the making of your new house for months. The end is nearing completion and you are already visualising where the furniture should go, but before you seal the deal to take possession, did you ensure that you inspected every aspect of the build for workmanship and compliance? Have you conducted a Handover or Completion Inspection in Sydney or Bateman’s Bay?
A handover inspection is a comprehensive check up of your brand new house BEFORE you take ownership. This is where Resicert will go through everything in the property, from foundations to the ridge beam and make certain everything is as it should be.
Inspection in Sydney or Bateman’s Bay
A builder may not prevent you (or a person authorised in writing who represents you) or your lending institution from inspecting the building work as allowed by the contract or by regulations under the Act. A contract cannot limit inspections except by restricting them to normal working hours or forbidding inspections that would unreasonably hinder or interfere with the building work.
REF: Building Commission: Notice to the Homeowner
Why do you need a handover inspection?
This is your last chance to find any problems with the property before you take ownership and the contractor leaves. You want everything to be in perfect order to avoid disputes with the builder later on who is responsible for the issues and whether it is included by your warranty.
What will our inspector do?
The inspector will listen to any important concerns you may have about something that may become a problem, but you don’t feel the contractor has been completely honest with. The inspector will make a top to bottom check up, inside and out including:
- Siding and Exterior walls
- Flashing and Roof
- Foundation and Basement walls
- Every room including any fixtures, fittings, window hardware, and door
- Drainage system (if there was any required)
- Check to make sure all work is fully done
- Check the quality of the work
- Ensure you are getting what you paid for
You want to make sure you are getting exactly what was expected.
All of our reports are clear and easy to read and are available within 48 hours. You will also receive a thorough verbal report before the inspector leaves.
The higher the inspection level, the more detail about the home you will receive in the reporting process.
